In less than a week I will be turning 36. Yes, I said 36!!!!!! It's so hard to believe. I have to say being so close to 40 is surreal. But there are 2 good things 1) someone I met today thought I was 24----oh,yeah..... and 2) I always share a birthday with Trisha, sharing a birthday w/ your best friend is great !!!!

Another Eli story
We were watching a movie today The Last Mimzy(wierd-don't recommend it) and there was a scene were a lady was meditating in front of Buddha and Eli said "Mom, is that like the Chinese saying their Pledge of Allegiance."

Tantrum
Eli threw one of those major tantrums in the Target toy isle yesterday - you know the one where you just want to walk away and act like it is not your child that is acting like a total brat. I mean come on Eli, Christmas is just a few days away. We were buying a birthday present for his friend Wade and I told him he had $6 from losing 2 teeth he could buy something "little". He did not like it when I told him that the $ 89.99 Lego set did not count as "little" as well as the $40 Star Wars set. To make it all worse my mother-in-law was with me therefore she got to see how wonderful my mothering skills were...I tried everything but then resorted to saying "okay fine-I am calling your DAD to come over here!" --he stopped crying and settled on a $4.99 Bakugan.

Do you believe in Santa ?
Emma came home last week and told me 2 of her friends told her Santa wasn't real and that it was just your mom and dad. Well.....1st I wanted to strangle the kids who said that to her(of coarse they are both sweet girls and I wouldn't do that...) and 2nd I wanted to cry. It caught me off guard and I just sort of looked dumb-founded at her. I then proceded to tell her that once she stopped believing in Santa that that is when Santa no longer comes to your house to bring you presents and it was too bad her friends wouldn't be getting any presents from Santa. I was sad for the rest of the day thinking that she may only believe for one more year.
